Rotary Youth Leadership Competition – This competition is one of our longest running youth projects and it rewards young people with clear leadership potential based on their extra-curricular activities. Last year we reviewed the format of the competition and we will keep this programme for the coming school year. Winners will visit Belfast and meet with local political, business and charity leaders, then we travel to Dublin for further meetings with leaders and then the highlight of the trip will be to debate a variety of motions in the European Parliament in Strassbourg at Euroscola. The process to take part is very simple, your club invites schools and young people to participate. The competition is aimed at students in the senior cycle of secondary school, who will still be 17 or younger by March 2011. Key dates: Club packs distributed at PEPS June / September 2011: contact schools for participants October 2011: hold club interviews and select club winner Late November 2011: Regional finals March 2012: Youth leadership 24 district winners go to Belfast/Dublin & Euroscola Strassbourg Click here for more information Click here for Competition Certificate Click here for Application form Rotary Club DownloadsQuestions and answers, please contact Youth Leadership Competition co-ordinator Sam Crowe – Rotary Club of Carrickfergus Rotary Youth Leadership Project Office |
